A new press release by the American Medical Association (AMA) reports that 65% of Americans support higher alcohol taxes—an unsurprising (if biased) conclusion, since the group has received over $50 million from the neo-prohibitionist Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The AMA also boasted of RWJF’s multi-faceted, highly coordinated assault on responsible consumption through RWJF-funded and AMA-run programs in Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Texas—where these groups are working to increase taxes on adult beverages.
